Summer Adventure 2013

Every summer I work at a day care called Summer Adventures. Usually at least one of the projects that the kids do include a photo of their face attached to it. Well, this year instead of doing a project with their photos I decided over the entire summer that I would shoot photos of each kid, and aim to have 2-3 photos to give to each parent by the end of the summer. Photographing kids was a little more on the new side for me, but it was so much fun! I was working with 1-2  year olds, so it sometimes was a little challenging. At the end of the summer when the parents received the photos of their kids I got permission from most of them to use, and post, them because their kids are just so darn cute! These kids will forever be in my heart…

Meet Haden. He is such a sweetie, and when he would talk he would just melt your heart.

Haden had been hiding his hand in his shirt sleeve, so we asked him, “Haden where’d your hand go?” Next thing we knew he had somehow taken his entire arm out of the sleeve, and up through the head whole.

Image

When he wasn’t talking and melting your heart he had his thumb in his mouth.

Haden loved posing for the camera just a little too much… But he is just too darn cute!

Those killer blue eyes…

Haden has a twin whose name is Hailey.

One time while we were outside Hailey decided to fill her mouth with some dirt/mud. She’s still so cute, even with dirt all over her mouth!

Hailey finally decided to pose for the camera.

Meet our curly red hair girl, Lilly.

Smiley Lilly.

Lilly decided to make a funny face for the camera. I think she’s attempting fish lips.

She even knows how to pose at age two!

Meet Lillykate. Sadly this is the only photo I could get of her. I tried all summer! When I told her to look at the camera and smile, she’d say cheese and look the opposite direction of the camera. Haha, she is such an energetic toddler.

Meet the handsome chunk that we referred to as Maddax. He was the youngest of the group at only 10 months, but weighed the same and even more than some of the 2 year olds.

The famous Maddax smirk. Such a chunk!

Meet Noah. He was the happiest baby in the room. He never really wined or cried, but always smiley and happy!

This is Noah’s mom’s favorite photo from the summer. She worked in the room, so she got to see all of the photos right away.

I saved my favorite boy for last, meet Charlie. Charlie had a rough beginning of the summer because he had never really been away from mom. But we all got to watch him grow over the summer. At the beginning he used to have to be held all day or he’d cry, he couldn’t sleep at nap time unless you held him, and he wouldn’t eat much either. Over the summer he became the happiest, and most social boy in the room. He was one of the only kids who ate all of his lunch instead of dumping it on his lap or the floor. He enjoyed to cuddle, but still became very independent. And even for nap time he started sleeping on a mat all by himself. So proud!

Image

Over 4th of July break Charlie decided to pull a flat screen T.V. on top of himself, and he ended up with four stitches above his right eye.

I plan on working again next summer at Summer Adventures, and hopefully I’ll be able to do a similar project. Every summer I get new kids, and each one of them leaves an imprint on my heart!
